The Challenge

The application was a multi-function print, copy, fax and scanner with cable assemblies that were routinely coming back bent and broken. Inspection revealed that construction relied on the coupling of 2 sets of cable that assembly partners were regularly assembling with the wrong ends together.

The Solution

We designed an HDMI interface with multiple levels of mismatch prevention. Added a raised and slotted rail guard and custom stamped the phalanges to guard against erroneous assembly.

Final solution was language proof with triple level mismatch prevention.
